On April 12, 2007 the National Institute of Mental Health hosted a symposium, Partnerships to Integrate Evidence-Based Mental Health Practices Into Social Work Education and Research, that brought together social work leaders, academic innovators in teaching evidence-based mental health practice, and representatives of other federal agencies, national organizations and consumers. The Institute for the Advancement of Social Work Research scanned the field in advance of the symposium to identify efforts already underway to teach evidence-based mental health practices and to promote partnerships between social work education programs and mental health providers. IASWR developed this report that details the symposium presentations, the conclusions and the suggested next steps.
